Do you know what the purpose of the Old Testament Law and sacrificial system was?

It was to expose our sinfulness and the need for a perfect substitutional sacrifice to make peace with God possible.

Only Jesus Christ perfectly obeyed the Old Testament laws, and was the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Only through turning to Him alone in faith can we have eternal life and become children of God.

What is the message from the story of the "Good Samaritan"?

It`s that we can never obey the law perfectly all the time to be made righteous in God`s sight.

That`s why Jesus Christ, God`s Son died as a substitute for us. He was the only one to perfectly obey the law. Through faith in Him alone, we are credited with His righteousness and He takes the punishment for our sins.
