Romans 3:20-25 (ESV)
20 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐰 𝐧𝐨 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ 21 So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐆𝐨𝐝.”

Our culture says to "Follow your heart" because it believes we are born with good hearts.

Today, many people are hearing the message, "Don`t fear God. He loves you unconditionally". And what is so often communicated by that is that God is in fact not your judge, no matter what you do, whatever the condition of your life, your attitude towards Him or your actions in His world. You don`t have anything to worry about. God is not your judge. God is your biggest fan, and he just wants you to be happy.

Ephesians 1:13-14 (ESV)
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

The coming of Jesus concerns how He qualifies people to belong to God - by His perfect and holy work alone in our place. The perfect holiness of character (sanctification) of God’s people will only be fulfilled when He returns. However, every Christian has been made holy in His sight, and has the Spirit indwelling and conforming us more and more to His image.
