2 Timothy 3:14-17 (ESV) 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it 15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.Satan is always trying to entice us to believe that there's an easier way than the way of true godliness, true faithfulness and serious discipleship than growing in God's word, growing in the knowledge of God.
People today are often saying that your path of Christian growth, the path of Christian spirituality is actually, by 𝑑𝑒𝑒𝑚𝑝ℎ𝑎𝑠𝑖𝑧𝑖𝑛𝑔 the knowledge of God 𝐛𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝.A true knowledge of God effects how we relate to him. 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠?The very first rebel, Satan was there in the garden saying to Eve this very same thing; God knows that when you eat of it, of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which God told them they must not eat, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God.𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐥 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲'𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭, 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞, 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬. Colossians 1:9-11 (ESV)9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 𝑠𝑜 𝑎𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑤𝑎𝑙𝑘 𝑖𝑛 𝑎 𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑟 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑡ℎ𝑦 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑑, 𝑓𝑢𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑝𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 ℎ𝑖𝑚: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy;
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬?There's really only one priority that we should desire and pursue as children of our heavenly Father; and as we grow as Christians, this will be something that is more and more evident in terms of our thinking and our believing, and in terms of how we seek to live our lives. Well, what's that priority?
